Heuchera 'Berry Timeless'

Heuchera 'Berry Timeless'

Coral Bell

Zn 4 - 9

This plant will wow you with it's amazing flower production -- unlike any other coral bell. It produces tall 45-50 cm flower spikes which are adorned with masses of light pink bell flowers which age to deep rose pink. Even better it blooms and reblooms from early summer to frost. And what makes this plant even more remarkable the spent flowers do not drop off -- they dry on the stem similar to Statice. The flowers are a beautiful contrast to the mint green foliage which is overlaid with silver.

This is a Heuchera villosa hybrid. It is robust and tolerant of high heat and humidity. It can be grown in sun or shade in any decent garden soil. HEIGHT: 45-50 cm SPREAD: 45-50 cm

General Information

Extensive breeding has created a fabulous range of ornamental, even exotic foliage. These new varieties are best grown in a cooler, partially shaded location away from the blazing afternoon sun. Generally Coral Bells are very easy to grow provided they have reasonably fertile, well-drained soil. These are low maintenance perennials, free from pests and disease, that virtually always look very neat and tidy. Most varieties will begin to lose some of their vigour after 3-4 years and will need to be divided. Tiny, coral bell blooms are very attractive to hummingbirds and they also make a good cut flower. A great perennial for the beginner and the collector.

Lavandula angustifolia 'Ellagance Snow'

Lavandula angustifolia 'Ellagance Snow'

English Lavander

Zone 5 - 9

Uniform, compact shrub with gray-green scented foliage. Produces masses of fragrant, white flowerspikes (4-5cm long) on sturdy stems. Long flowering from June to August. HEIGHT: 25-30 cm SPREAD: 25-30 cm

Lavandula angustifolia prefers average to dry, well-drained soil in full sun. Excess winter moisture may cause stem rot. Hot, humid summers may cause leaves to blacken and plant to deteriorate. Prune flower stalks to encourage more blooms. In spring, prune plants to desired size or to the old woody stems, to promote vigourous growth and keep a dense, compact habit. Please note that lavenders should never be pruned harder than half way down the stems. Because of its strong scent, plants can be added throughout the garden to deter insects. In mild climates lavenders remains evergreen.

Delphinium New Millenium - Black-Eyed Angels

Delphinium New Millenium - Black-Eyed Angels

Zn 3 - 9

Very dramatic. Tall spires of pure white blooms with a bold black centre.

New Millenium Hybrids were developed in New Zealand to produce stronger stalks and more intensely coloured blooms. They are considered to be longer lived and more tolerant of heat and humidity. I grow these in my garden and have found them to be stronger and tougher but they still do require staking. (6-8')

Delphiniums are much loved by the new gardener and the connoisseur alike. Their spires of brilliant blooms are also frequently visited by hummingbirds and butterflies. They also produce a great cut flower. Delphiniums are best grown in full sun, in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. During the blooming period fertilize regularly with a good perennial food to help feed and maintain the plant. Delphiniums will generally begin to bloom in early summer and may continue for up to 4 weeks. If they are cut back after flowering they may bloom again later in the summer.

Delphiunium are poisonous and usually are not bothered by deer or rabbits.
