Helleborus was the 2005 Perennial Plant of the Year

This is spectacular newer introduction, part of the Winter Jewels series. It has double flowers so full they have a fluffy appearance. Blooms range in colour from pale to lemon yellow and some are marked with burgundy-red speckling, shading and/or picotee edges. (16-18")

Helleborus are valued for their winter or early spring blooms. These clump-forming perennials require a well-drained, moist, fertile site in part to full shade. Avoid dry or water-logged soils and provide shelter from prevailing winter winds. These are exacting conditions. Note: Helleborus are poisonous.
