Helleborus was the 2005 Perennial Plant of the Year

Compact mound of leathery, dark green foliage set with large, saucer-shaped, white blooms which are flushed with pink and green. (12-15")

Helleborus are valued for their winter or early spring blooms. These clump-forming perennials require a well-drained, moist, fertile site in part to full shade. Avoid dry or water-logged soils and provide shelter from prevailing winter winds. Note: Helleborus are poisonous.
