Exceptionally hardy, native shrub, Crinkled, lush, green foliage turns yellow in the fall. Produces masses of white, ball-shaped flowers flushed with pink, in late spring and early summer followed by red fruit in the fall. Gorgeous exfoliating bark, peeling off in sheets, particularly on older stems. The shrub has an excellent upright, arching form. Ninebarks prefer well-drained fertile soil but being very hardy and adaptable, they will tolerate a wide range of soil types and conditions. Prune by removing dead twigs after flowering.
